ALIVE was contacted and nominated by the Civil Society Network on the Development Goals (CSD-NET) to lead and coordinate the civil society on SDGs Intervention in Rivers State.
ALIVE has since its nomination set up a coordinating structure of Sub Coordinators representing the 3 Senatorial districts in the state
The” Gender Agenda” Advocacy Programme was developed by ALIVE to raise awareness and rally support for collective action on the issues that confront Women and Girls. The Media Advocacy Campaign is one way to ensure that the Government treats Women and Gender issues as a priority on their agenda.
The Media Advocacy featured a press Conference on Child Sexual Abuse with focus on incessant rape cases of girls and the development of infants. Media Houses like Silver Bird TV, Nigeria Television Authority (N.T.A), Nigeria Info, National Point Newspaper, and Treasure FM were all in attendance to capture the Press Statements.
This project is facilitated by ALIVE with a consortium of partners targeting children of school age (Girls and Boys) on Sex Education, Sexual Violence, Prevention Strategies and how to respond when violence occurs.
