ALIVE was contacted and nominated by the Civil Society Network on the Development Goals (CSD-NET) to lead and coordinate the civil society on SDGs Intervention in Rivers State.

ALIVE has since its nomination set up a coordinating structure of Sub Coordinators representing the 3 Senatorial districts in the state

• Mr Kingsley Achor representing Rivers East Senatorial zone
• Mrs Rita Kigbara representing Rivers South-East Senatorial Zone
• Mrs Mabel Abua representing Rivers West Senatorial Zone

Local Government Area (L.G.A) Coordinators have also been identified and selected to anchor the SDGS activities in each Local Government Area (L.G.A). 

Planning and Inaugural meetings have held in preparations for the formal launch of the SDGS in Rivers State and Kick off of planned Activities.

Planned Programmes and Interventions on the SDGS in Rivers State includes the following

• Advocacy Visits to Critical Stakeholders
• Goal 8- Decent work and economic growth, Goal 6- Clean Water and Sanitation, Goal 13 – Climate action have been identified as areas of focus for the SDGS Intervention in Rivers State.
